#IKEAAMBASSADOR: AN EVENT ON THE IMPORTANCE OF SLEEP AND TIPS FOR A BETTER NIGHT'S REST
Hi everyone! This week I was lucky enough to be able to attend a new event for professional media and "ambassadors" of the IKEA brand, in which they were presented an interesting study in which they have presented us with the interesting study "Socio-Economic Conditions and Sleep", which deals about the importance of well sleep and tips for getting a good night's rest, since in recent years it has been scientifically proven that they help us live a healthier and longer life. So I'm going to give you a little summary of what they told us together with some tips in case they help you rest better... ;)
#EMBAJADORIKEA: UN EVENTO SOBRE LA IMPORTANCIA DEL SUEÑO Y TIPS PARA UN MEJOR DESCANSO NOCTURNO
Some of the things we were told during this interesting presentation of the study, is that sleep is a basic physiological need, which we must satisfy daily to stay healthy and functional, since it directly influences most of the natural processes of our body and mind However, it is an established fact that, in today's society, sleep, far from being a basic need to cover, is sometimes "a luxury for many citizens" according to their social and economic status, but it also has a great influence gender, education, social and work roles...
However, it's an established fact that, in today's society, sleep, far from being a basic need to cover, is sometimes "a luxury for many citizens" according to their social and economic status, but it also has a great influence gender, education, social and work roles...
As we were told, all human beings have the same need to sleep, but there are several socioeconomic factors that generate important inequalities when it comes to satisfying this vital need, so a basic physiological function is becoming a luxury within the reach of a few , which results in "sleep poverty" for many people...
This lack of quality sleep prevents many from reaching the optimal levels needed to maintain good health and function fully in their daily lives. In addition, lack of sleep carries a significant economic cost, derived from its negative effects on health, well-being, safety and productivity...
For example, the lower educational level, the more problems are manifested in the sleep health of children and adolescents (in Europe). And it's estimated that people who work full-time experience more daytime sleepiness than those who work part-time or are unemployed, and that even men and women with low-skilled jobs are more likely to have short and poor-quality sleep. In addition, it has been shown that a low socioeconomic level also directly impacts the poor quality and quantity of sleep, and therefore also affects mental and physical health...
In this post you can see some of the moments I captured during the IKEA event, and you can also see details of my bedroom decorated for this Autumn (I took the photos early in the morning and that's why there are a coffee... since thanks to this sleep study I've decided to stop drinking stimulants for the rest of the day!).
In relation to gender, low-income or unemployed women are more likely to suffer from excessive daytime sleepiness and insomnia, with a significantly higher probability than men. In addition, both women and men in low-skilled jobs experience a higher prevalence of sleep problems.

In short, despite the socio-economic, labor or gender aspects that can have a negative impact on the quality of our sleep, we can make many small gestures and changes in our social and emotional environment, as well as at home, that contribute to improving our rest in the short and long term. What did you think of this study? Do you think you are really like this and do you see them reflected in what is analyzed in the study?. I'd love to hear your opinion about it... Thank you very much and have a nice rest and a happy weekend! ;)
